What is the Hero's Journey?
The American Philosopher, Joseph Campbell described the arc of a human life as The Hero's Journey in which we are not just the lead but its hero!
You may have begun to believe that your life is sort of ordinary. That is simply untrue. Remember when you were a child and there was magic and wonder and excitement and discovery? Where have they gone? Nowhere! It's all still here; they've just faded into the background. Or have they? You're here, after all, on this page.
Without ever setting eyes on you, I know things about you that you, too, know in your heart and soul. I believe in your magic. You can take the wizard's cape back up (remember when a bed sheet was a magic cape?).
I know that you are brilliant in a way that is unique to you. You are sensitive to people, plants, animals. You want healing for yourself. But you want it almost more for the people you love, even for the whole world. You have a longing for love and community to matter more than it seems to. You want to do something important.
Wherever you are on the journey, you can start now. Maybe you're at the beginning trying to sort out if there even is something that needs sorting out. Maybe you're about to take the risk of being true to yourself. Maybe you seek to correct a wrong turn. Maybe you're undecided about which path is yours, The most important thing right now is that you are willing to consider that you're amazing. That you're a hero in waiting. Don't wait another day. Start small, big, or in between. Start anywhere. But today is the day to start your Hero's Journey.
Listen, if you feel adrift or unsatisfied, anxious, filled with an unnamed longing or oddly numb, that's the Hero's Journey trying to get your attention. When you are lonely, confused, lost, frustrated – that is the call! When is the time to follow your bliss if not now?
In our work together, I guide you to give voice to the mystery within you. As a result, the circle of your awareness expands past ego barriers and survival needs. Your core values become clear and you can tell what is and isn't in alignment with who you are—you find your truth! You experience many aha moments. You awaken to your beautiful divine self. You sense your natural greatness. You have clarity and ease. You may feel delight (so watch out :). And, very important, because this work isn't about reaching a destination but an ongoing process, you learn tangible tools and skills that support you on your journey.
