The Mystic's Tarot & Oracle Cards™
Online Book
Dear Reader, I invite you to evolve your own unique relationships and lexicon of the Mystic's Tarot & Oracle Cards. The MTOC Online Book is a book of possibilities, rather than of truths with a capital "T."
It poses question for you and examples of how I answer them for myself. These answers are written in first-person narrative – rather than as an instruction for the reader – in order to inspire, rather than direct them.
This book will continue to evolve and change. If you desire to preserve the current form, please take a screenshot.

0 - Child
The Journey of ChildThe journey starts in the womb of water where our earthly life begins. CARD DESCRIPTION: A young child free-dives in this fertile underwater world. They gaze with gentle curiosity. A fish follows a butterfly, flying towards a panther who rests on bars of music and soundwaves. All are accompanied by hummingbirds. Majestic, starry mountains rise in the background. |
SITTING WITH THIS CARD: As you feel into Child, what does it draw forth from within you?
|
Sitting with this card, what it draws forth from me is that I find it so telling that all move freely. Everyone is floating in the same waters. To me, this says they belong to Mama Gaia and Mama Gaia belongs to them. Life is a glorious incongruous spectacle accompanied by sound and music. And we're not only part of it – we're right in the middle of it all. |
WHEN YOU FEEL OUT INTO THE WORLD: Does Child resonate differently? If so, what does your inner wisdom tell you about that?
|
When I feel out into the world, I see the journey of the MTOC, and that it begins with great curiosity and wonder (and confusion, too, at times). |
WHEN YOU DRAW THIS CARD: Might it invite you to explore and be with it, and allow Child to become a portal to your own divine wisdom?
|
When I draw this card, I remember how important staying curious is. My inner wisdom whispers how amazing it is to be alive and how important it is to remember that and be grateful. |
YOU CAN ALSO ASK: Have I become limited? What may be possible if I adopt the openness of "child's mind?"
|
I ask myself what can I put in place to question my assumptions that cause me to be afraid and play small. Because when I don't, I can live my purpose of helping to heal the human world by loving it. |
Tree Family
Symbol Description: The symbol is a green shade tree curving its branches like a dancer. The canopy is wide and leafy and the roots are deep and strong.
FAMILY CHARACTERISTICS: Earth & Universe, consciousness, insight. Deep connection, groundedness, being rooted, and innocence.
What might the Tree symbol mean to you? |
To me, the Tree Family characteristics are: Earth and universe; consciousness; insight; deep connection; groundedness; being rooted; and innocence.
The Tree, to me, is a symbol of the source of our earthly manifestation – Mama Gaia. They bring us forth into the earthly realm. Through them, we are literally connected with all substance, and thus, with the entire universe, all the way back to the beginning of time. The tree symbol reminds me to stay grounded in this understanding of the physicality of earthly life.

SITTING WITH THE FAMILY: How might the characteristics of the Tree Family – and the characteristics of the other cards belonging to it – influence your understanding of the Child card? Does it deepen the lens? Does it confuse? Does one particular insight or thought stand out? |
The cards of the Tree Family, to me, have in common their rootedness in an earthy reality that doesn't rely on consensus reality or zeitgeist. They are true and constant, encountered by young children, in repose, and during rituals like grounding and meditation, and in love. |
Arithmantic Interlacements
